Commercial Refurbishment Listed Building
Rosenthaler Straße 13, Berlin-Mitte
Work stages: 1-8
Complete refurbishment of a commercial listed building.
The building was stripped out. The small scale units were removed and the original unit sizes restored. As much of the loft character as possible was preserved by using glass partitions where necessary and free-standing boxes for closed rooms such as kitchens, sanitary installations and server rooms.
New internal stairs connect individual units with one another. The roofs to the side wings and rear building were removed to create a 200 sq m roof terrace. Balconies were added to the courtyard rooms. New elements were visibly modern so as to preserve the quality of the old building.
Net area, before: ca. 2,770 sq m.
